What is the difference between Hajj and Umrah?

Hajj is a major event in terms of both its religious significance and the enormous logistical challenge of bringing together so many people from all walks of life and from all corners of the globe in one very small space at the same time. But what exactly is it?

Hajj 2021

The hajj is a five-day religious pilgrimage to Mecca and nearby holy sites in Saudi Arabia that all Muslims who are physically and financially able must undertake at least once in their lifetimes. It is one of Islam's five pillars, or obligations, along with professing faith in one God and Mohammed as his prophet, praying, charitable giving, and fasting during Ramadan. The hajj occurs only once a year, in the 12th and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar; pilgrimages to Mecca at other times of the year are welcome but do not count toward the hajj.

The Hajj usually has a lot of challenges each year for example the dysregulation of crowd or fires and what not due to the huge population that gathers all at once. However this year, there are a new set of problems.  Due to the pandemic, Hajj 2021 needs to be properly managed and controlled.

Hajj 2021 packages

Hajj 2021 packages need to consist of hotel accommodations and transportations via different means which are sanitized and approved by government standards. This year to avoid the further spread of pandemic, everyone needs to wear mask and undergo a quarantine after it is over to monitor and avoid contracting and spreading the virus.
